planning

Today I have thought about what I enjoy most in this course which I quite like editing and how I can focus on that and foreshadow for my final piece of this project, Horror seems like a good genre to focus on because I think it will be easier to plan foreshadowing in a horror scene. To start off I will plan a storyline, create a storyboard and shot-list and then hopefully go on to film/edit within the next couple weeks.

Ideas

first frame of someone close up cutting food. later the knife is used to kill them.

someone getting stalked. at the start they read something about a stalker around.

an argument between 2 friends

a knock on the door and its an unknown person. was on the phone to an unknown number beforehand or was reading a newspaper about murderers.

These are a couple posters I found on the internet which I can use in my mini film. My idea is a girl cutting some vegetables or something using a close up of the knife, she then hears a knock at the door and is surprised, her phone starts to ring on an unknown number and the poster is in the shot next to her phone saying “the death of cold calling” she goes and looks through the peep holier the door but doesn’t see anybody so opens the door to have a look however once she steps outside somebody appears stabbing her with a knife who leaves her ling on the floor and runs of.

This uses foreshadow twice, once being the knife and the second being the poster. I have created a storyboard and shot its on paper which I can go through whilst filming to make sure I don’t miss any shots by accident and it will make sense. The equipment I will need is possibly a tripod and shoulder mount to get the different shot. the tripod will help stabilise the shots so they rant shaking and I can use it to move the camera side to side to follow her. the shoulder mount can be used for the first person point of view to make it feel more authentic. In post production I will add music to make it tense when she’s going to answer the door, this will engage the audience more so they feel like they are in the scene.
