This is Bastille playing live at a festival, I’m using this for an example of online editing which means the cuts were made during the performance and didn’t need anything doing post-production. The reason I am presuming this is because it is a concert and from different shots you can see cameras on the stage at the same time which you can see in the screenshot below. Online editing is good because it means you don’t have to do anything with the video post production and is complete when you stop recording, Also it is easier to make feel more authentic. However the final video might not be as good because you are doing it live and therefore easier to make mistakes as you only have one chance to do it.
For my example of offline editing i’m using this cover that Rajiv Dahl made… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOuD1HV0Zpg I can tell this wasn’t edited live because of the special effects added and how he jumps to different places. Doing offline editing means that you have a wider choice of how to put together the video and add different effects as well as cut quicker between shots however because of this it also takes a lot longer to get the final product.
